General feature highlights

Improved reporting

Interactive simulation reporting for more efficient and precise model review

Reports from EPANET and EPASWMM simulators now allow selecting components directly from the report, zooming in on these components in the map view. The feature helps greatly in following the simulation report and locating the problematic components in the map view.

Section view tool

Inspect the elevation models and other raster layers along a specific path

This tool streamlines inspection for DEM and other rasters, such as flood results in Fluidit Storm. Choose a path and a long section will be generated. Additions to the figure and comparisons with other scenarios can be done in our great reporting tool Schematics. When paired with the DEM modification tool, users can quickly explore how elevation changes affect their scenarios!

Update demands based on pipes

The Connect Demands tool can now utilize Pipes

Previously, connections were made based on the nearest Junctions, thus encouraging the user to split pipes into smaller segments to increase accuracy. With the new feature, models become more accurate with less manual work.

Optimize & calibrate tool

Optimize and calibrate any numerical aspects of the model

The enhanced tool allows you to select a component design variable(s) to be adjusted and a cost function. The tool modifies your design variable based on the preferences the user defines (e.g. list of accepted values, range, or groups) trying to minimize the cost function. The cost function can be, for example, pumping costs, amount of leaks, or difference in measured and modeled value.

Explore the product-specific highlights

Fluidit Heat

The Fluidit Heat 2.6 boasts major feature upgrades that elevate the 5th-generation energy system modeling capabilities beyond your expectations.

Flexible accumulator configurations

Added flexibility to accumulator configurations for more realistic utilization of the accumulator in a district energy system

In this new configuration, the accumulator can operate as an open-flow system without the need for control valves or pumps, making it ideal for use as a large thermal storage unit or a balancing thermal buffer. Moreover, the user does not need to predetermine the charge and discharge powers in the control method. This allows for flexible thermal storage and network balancing in conventional and 5GDHC networks.

Electricity spot prices

Integration of the ENTSO-E electricity spot price database as a data source

Added support for integrating ENTSO-E database as a Data Source, providing users with access to real-time electricity pricing data in the European electricity markets. This integration allows for enhanced decision-making in energy management by facilitating accurate cost assessments and optimizing energy consumption strategies. Users can now leverage this comprehensive data source to better understand market dynamics, forecast expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Multi-Parameter Curve

Multi-Parameter Curve

The new Multi-Parameter Curve enables the modeling of heat pump COP

A new Multi-Parameter Curve type has been introduced, enabling modeling of heat pumps in district heating and cooling networks. This curve provides the coefficient of performance (COP) of the heat pump as a function of key variables (such as source temperature and load demand), allowing for more accurate calculation of the heat pump’s energy use. In future releases, parametric curves could be implemented to enable modeling of e.g. turbines and flue gas condensers.

Versatile pattern types

New versatile pattern types improve consumer demand forecasting accuracy

Users can now define pattern types to capture specific load behaviors better. The new pattern types include monthly patterns for the year with one month resolution, patterns for weekdays, weekends and the whole week with hourly resolution, and custom patterns with custom step lengths. Demands can now have up to three load patterns, allowing for more accurate and versatile modeling of load variations between weekdays, weekends, and seasons.

Improved fluid properties

Improved fluid properties

Better accuracy for fluid properties in high and low temperatures

The water temperature can now extend up to 180°C in the network. The accuracy of the fluid properties in low and high temperatures is improved.

Fluidit Storm & Sewer

Our tools for stormwater and sewer systems are faster, more robust, and enhance the modeler workflow with new tools.

Update elevations

Quickly fix the conduit’s elevations and get a realistic long section

Storm and Sewer users can modify the elevations and offsets for conduits by choosing a minimum cover. This ensures the conduits will be as deep as required in your project. Obverts of incoming and outgoing pipes can now be matched in a snap. There are a dozen other quick actions to fix the network geometry in your model.

Friendly UI for 1D-2D coupling components

Visually select the cells involved in the 1D-2D coupling

You can now visualize coupling areas for 2D culvert inlets/outlets and coupled nodes directly on the map. Enter the area, set the alignment, and instantly see which 2D cells are selected. Pair this with the DEM modification and new section tools for a smoother and more efficient setup.

Major speed boost

Major speed boost

City-scale 1D and 2D modeling is faster than before

You can enjoy up to 2x faster city-scale 1D model simulations than our previous Storm and Sewer releases. Moreover, all 2D simulations benefit from the drastic reduction in the results post-processing time. Our enhanced 1D–2D coupled simulations can also run up to 3x faster than before!*

*Tests carried out with real-life city-scale large models in typical workstations. Improvement between 1.5-3x

Fluidit Water

Bring field data closer to modeling. Combine fast simulations with our versatile calibration tool and experience unprecedented modelling accuracy.

Use Optimize & Calibrate tool to locate leaks

Increase the accuracy of your models with the upgraded Optimize & Calibrate tool

Demand’s parent node, Pattern and Time Series, can be optimized. Use these powerful features for example to locate leaks in the water distribution system.

Fluidit Vision

Visualize models, explore results, and share your models via a web browser like a guru.

Manage permissions

Manage permissions

Enhanced control and safety

You can now flexibly manage permissions and access onto the Fluidit Vision platform. Specify different roles for your workspaces and define what actions are available to users. Activate MFA (Multifactor authentication) for increased security.
